About the app and safety
Foxhole Field Guide is a fan-made vehicle reference for Foxhole. It is not a shop, not a subscription, not a game for money. Here is plainly what it asks from your phone, what it does not do, and how to install it without worry.
What it asks from your phone
- Internet — to show the live war map and to send frontline notifications. For nothing else.
- Notifications — only if you switch them on yourself. Leave them off and the app stays quiet.
- Start after reboot — so frontline alerts keep working after you switch the phone off. Also only with notifications on.
That is all. It does not ask for the camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, location, phone calls or SMS.
What it does not do
- No payments, no subscriptions, no donations. Free — with no “later”.
- No wallet connection, no card details, no login anywhere.
- No personal data: no name, no email, no phone number, no list of your games.
- No ads, and nothing pushed at you.
- Nothing running in the background behind your back.
The only thing counted is the app version and the fact it was launched — to see how many people use it and whether their copy is up to date. No names, no data.
How to check it yourself
- Before installing, Android shows the permissions the app wants — you will see exactly the three above, and nothing more.
- After installing: phone Settings → Apps → Foxhole Field Guide → Permissions. Same three.
- Check the file: size… version… — the link never changes and redirects nowhere.

Why your phone warns you
- “Unsafe app” from Play Protect — that is how Google flags any file that does not come from Google Play. Tap “More details” → “Install anyway”.
- “Allow installs from this source” — because until now you installed only from stores. Allow it once.
- Updates also ask for a confirmation, and that is normal: Android does not let ordinary apps install anything silently, without the owner knowing. That protection works in your favour.
